Disease Agents Nematode worms Porrocaecum crassum, occasionally Porrocaecum ensicaudatum; intermediate host earthworms. Reddish-white worms, male 12-30mm long, female 40-55mm, eggs 85 x 110 µm (micrometres), ellipsoidal, reticulated.  (B24, B32.33.w13).

General Description Reduced weight gain, diarrhoea, foamy discharges from the nose and anaemia have been reported (B24).
Further Information
  • May be found in the intestines of domestic and wild ducks.
  • Treatment: Anthelmintics as for other intestinal nematodes.
