| General Description |
- Proglottids of Anoplocephala sp. were found in the faeces of
a two-year-old Elephas maximus - Asian Elephant
at Perth Zoo, Australia; a 36-year-old elephant was known to be
infected. (J24.73.w2)
- Eggs of Anoplocephala manubriata were detected in the faeces
of eight of 15 captive elephants (from Theppakadu elephant camp,
India) but only three of 184 dung samples from wild elephants sharing
the same habitat. Anoplocephala manubriata also was collected
from a dead captive elephant at post mortem examination. (P64.1.w4)
- Anoplocephala manubriata was found at post mortem
examination in the intestines of an Elephas maximus - Asian Elephant
