History
The College was established in 1954, and became an independent
organisation in 1993. The College has a national reputation for
quality. Bishop Burton College is the only specialist land based
college to have been awarded all of the following quality awards.

This is a quality mark awarded by the Government to colleges that are
an outstanding example to others through their teaching, learning and

Accredited by FEFC
This quality mark is awarded by the Further Education Funding Council,
(the Government organisation currently responsible for further
education) to colleges that have done very well in inspections.
Bishop Burton College at the time of going to press was the only
