US counties reporting raccoon rabies, 1982. In the mid-Atlantic region, raccoon rabies is reported from Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. In the south-eastern states, reports of raccoon rabies continue from Florida, Georgia, and increasing areas of Alabama and South Carolina.
